As the founder and medical director of OptiVue Vision, Dr. William Martin leads an established Toledo practice that serves the eye care needs of over 100,000 patients throughout northwestern Ohio. His practice extends well beyond the Toledo area and includes a total of five ambulatory surgery centers, offices, and laser centers. Dr. William Martin’s team of dedicated optometrists and ophthalmologists is assisted by 100 experienced staff members. The practice’s areas of particular knowledge include cataract surgery and laser vision correction. With extended hours on Saturday evenings, his practice also offers around-the-clock emergency care.
After finishing his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and graduate studies at Johns Hopkins, he earned an MD at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and completed his ophthalmology residency training at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For the past 25 years, he has served as an assistant professor at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Previously, he performed as chief of the medical center’s ophthalmology division.
Dr. William Martin holds a patent in ophthalmic instrument and intraocular lens technology. He maintains membership in a number of professional organizations, including the American Intraocular Lens Implant Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
